Snow Bird

Last weekend we were given a December snow day. I'm still not sure what our total snowfall was for the day. I've heard many different amounts - anywhere from 14 inches to 24 inches! At any rate, let's just say it was "a lot".

The next day, I looked out my back door at this sweet little bird - sitting cozily in the snow covered bird feeder. At first I thought he might be injured because he sat there for well over an hour. But, thankfully, he was just fine. He must have just needed a rest (like all of us) after the big snow fall.

Peeking in a Hole

I have a little birdhouse hanging on the outside of my shed. Every year, I have darling birds make their home in it just before they prepare to add some new young-ins to their family. I'm always tickled to see their busy fluttering as they settle in for the special event. Look closely. Can you see the little sleeping heads of my new baby birds?

The Visitor

I promised in a previous post that I would share photos with you of a sweet little visitor we had when we were camping a few weekends ago. Well, I guess if I want to be perfectly honest, I should say that we were her visitors!

None-the-less, she was darling and a very protective mamma of her nest - which hung gently over the relaxing lake water. What a lovely spot for a home!

Chirping Birds

I hesitate to even post this - because I took these photos when there was still snow on the ground - and since my lilacs are blooming already - that means that spring has more than sprung!

But...I want to share some snapshots of the little birdies I made a couple months ago. I'm happy to report that their little wings have since warmed up and are glad to be out of the chill of winter. Brrr....

Wow - you should hear them chirp now!

Falling for Lavender...er LavendAr

Today I created my first Etsy Treasury! It was quite fun.

Let's see...(I say to myself) if I were to create a treasury, what could be one key word or theme that I could start with? Purple you say? Then purple it is!

Check it out here!

An extra fun thing about creating your own treasury is that you can also include one of your items that fits in the theme. I decided that my little Penelope Sue would be included. She smiled. :-)

Too Much?

I was out on my back steps the other day snapping some shots of another rock I covered with wool. I had brought with me some miscellaneous cut-out pieces to perhaps scatter around the rock in the photos. (You know - kind of like props - pretending that I'm a professional photographer.)

As I sat next to my little birdhouse, I wondered what it would look like with a wool flower doorway.

Tell me the truth, do you think it's too much?  :-)

Love Birds - Recycled Wool Pillows

I promise I won't blog about every darn creation that I post on my Etsy shop - but I guess it's a good way to let you know what I've been up to.

Lately, I haven't been dreaming-OF love birds - but I've been dreaming-UP love birds. I really have fun making these pillows. Birds and flowers are some of my most-favorist things to make with wool. I hope you like seeing them as much as I like making them!

Pillow Talk

I prepared a few bird-tweet pillows for a friend of mine to give to her mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day. She picked her favorite two and that left me with two. No problem. Actually, good. I could post them for sale on my Etsy site. More postings are always a score.

But another friend that has an incredible shop called Compliments in Nisswa, Minnesota, asked if I wanted to put them in her shop. She said she'd love to carry some of my items and maybe have a trunk show with me later this year!  How fun!

So two of my tweet-pillows have headed up to the northwoods of Minnesota. It's always exciting to be able to venture into new territory....literally!  (So sorry for the poor color quality of the photos - I took them on a dreary morning before heading to work - and I didn't "have time" to putz with proper lighting on my camera. Some day I'll learn to slow down and do it right. You can't tell from the photos, but they both have the same navy blue background fabric.)

Have a tweet day! (Sick, I know - but I couldn't resist!)
