Pride in America

I ran into this article/video of a man in Texas. Take a look - it's quite the story.

Gosh, if this man can have that much pride and respect for a country that he isn't even able to have a solid home in, I definately need to step back and look at the overabundance in my life that I have to be thankful for.

Blessings

Blessings to all on this Memorial Day.

I hung the American flag outside my house today. Made me happy.

Why The Lavendar Tree?

Where did The Lavendar Tree come from? Well, let me explain.

LAVENDAR: I've always had a purple passion. I think it arrived the day I was born. It was only natural that purple came into play somewhere in "my name".

I like the way "lavender" sounds - but for some reason, I think everyone else spells it wrong and it really should be spelled "lavendar". :-)

TREE: My grandmother was an incredible fiber artist - I believe way before the words "fiber artist" ever existed. She was an extremely talented quilter, knitter, crocheter and could embroider like no one's business. She had a talent for the satin stitch to die for! My grandma helped encourage my passion for crafting and stitching when I was very young.

I fondly recall one sunshiny day, standing at my grandma's kitchen window and seeing the tree leaves sway back and forth in her orchard. She said the leaves were "waving" at us. I loved that. (Note: I have found that birch trees make the happiest wavers!)
